Creative Little Bee

I have been so creative this weekend...well tried to be creative this weekend is really what I should say. I am getting around a little better since the surgery but I still have a ton of couch time so I decided to pick up knitting. All my friends are saying I have finally embraced getting older and am just biding my time until Wyatt grows up and gives me some grandchildren. Jeff on the other hand is just happy that I am trying to find something to be passionate about. Not that I think I am going to become passionate about it but I will try to have fun with it.

I noticed today after a weekend of hard work that I have my first blister. What amazes me is that of all the places I would have been complaining about this blister is on a weird part of my finger that I didn't even realize was being used. Luckily it doesn't hurt....yet that is.

It took me an entire pot holder to finally get the hang of knitting and still at that point I was just antsy about starting my project so I don't really care if there are mistakes....mistakes are what makes it handmade and handmade is cool. Or at least I think so, I will be making a blanket for my niece that is "on the way" and I don't think she will care much about it not being perfect. I worked on it a lot yesterday and I am already excited about the outcome. I LOVE the yarn and the color, my plan is after this blanket that I will start one for myself with the same yarn. We will see if I really am up for another project after this one, I hope so.

I will have to say that teaching yourself was NOT nearly as easy as I thought it was going to be. All the diagrams and explanations in the book are like reading Greek to me. I just don't get a lot of it and trying to figure out how I am supposed to get the yarn to wrap around these fingers and then the left needle goes WHERE? Now that I have been doing it for a day when I look at the diagram it does finally make sense but I thought I would go crazy this weekend. And as for binding off.....well I will just say that I was only successful for half of my pot holder so I don't even have that to show for all my hard work this weekend. I was going to post a pretty picture of my first project but as for now you will just have to wait the weeks and weeks for the blanket to be completed. Maybe I will take some "in process" pictures to share along the way.

While I was knitting I also came up with this GREAT idea for a website but I have a lot of research to do and I also have to either figure out how to construct a website or find someone who is willing to help this computer idiot.....I will let you in on the details as soon as I can.

I love leaving people hanging....but my guess is you all probably really don't care that much do you?
