I made it all by myself

So its finished. I can't believe it didn't take me longer. I know its plain, but its still beautiful right? I can't get over how nice it turned out and I only had one mistake that is really hard even for me to find. My next one will be a little different; with the yarn I have left over I will be trying to figure out some different stitches maybe even cables. I would like to make more baby blankets or maybe a big afghan for myself. Jeff suggested I make a scarf but its about to be summer and I would like to learn some cool stitches before I start making scarves. Can you guess what everyone will be getting for Christmas though? Can you? Huh, huh? Can you?

So during this process I started to get this really sharp pain in my right wrist. Bummer, I took a few days off to let it heal thinking it may not be related to the knitting. When I finally couldn't take it any longer I started knitting again and it didn't hurt at all, to knit that is....my wrist still hurts overall.

Anyways, Mother's Day rolled around and Jeff went out shopping without any clues or ideas from me. He came home and gave me the gift and I couldn't help but laugh. I have posted the picture so you can all get the same giggle over this product. I will say I think it is incredibly sweet and thoughtful of Jeff to be thinking about my wrist and my new hobby but AUGH....its just so ugly! I have tried it on and will definitely not be going out in public to knit with it on but I will try it to see if it helps. So as you all think of me sitting on the couch starting my next project you can laugh out loud thinking of me wearing the "Craft Glove".

Suicide Mission

Just a second ago as we are watching TV we heard a big bang on the window. Were kids outside throwing things? Could it be a tree branch?

It was a bird on a suicide mission and all I can say is "Mission Completed."

Jeff went to check on the noise and saw the bird lying there. We are making the assumption that is snapped its neck in the collision with our window. I have seen birds fly into our window before but we had the shade drawn, its not like it thought it would make it inside. Why Why poor bird did you use our window to end your life? You could have easily laid down in front of one of our cats and died, although flying into a window makes for a much quicker death. One of the cats came over to inspect what we were looking at and patted the bird a few times but what good is a bird that doesn't put up a fight. We waited for a few to see if maybe he was stunned or playing dead, do birds play dead?

After a while we discussed how to get rid of it. I thought we should throw it at the end of the driveway or across the street. What if it does wake up, although what if the cats find it at the end of the driveway and bring it into the house. THAT would be awful. Jeff's idea is to just throw it into the trash, but again what if it wakes up? He thinks it will survive in there until the next time we open the trash and then fly out. I think that is very unlikely, and on another note....we JUST had trash pick up the other day. Today is Sunday and we are going to have a rotting bird in our trash until Thursday. GROSS GROSS GROSS. I for one will not be taking any trash out and opening that lid, and the stink better not stay in there after the trash is taken on Thursday. Yuck.

When we came back in we noticed the feathers on the window and I went to take a closer look. I really wish I could take a picture of the window so you could see, but I just don't think you would be able to make it out. If you look close you can see the impact of the head and neck including the eyeball, poor thing must have never seen it coming if he didn't even close his eyes. Then again that would make me think that this wasn't a suicide. I have no other clues so this will go down as an accident, so much for my CSI investigation. I was going to take a picture of the bird and post it but then I realized that I haven't posted any pictures on this site yet and do I really want the first one to be of a dead bird?

I don't think so, that's just a little too morbid for me.
